Achilles Blog 28 – 29.6.14. Good work leg!

Good work Mr. K!!  Doc (Mr. Kumar) is very pleased with himself. My leg is 1 month ahead of rehab schedule and he feels that’s down to his fabulous handiwork…along with my efforts at physio exercises (yay, good job J!!); however, altho I want to, I cannot just abandon DV Boot cold turkey … must be a gradual weaning over 7-10 days… so DV Boot is now a ‘must have’ 2014 pool-side accessory (see pic).
The girl behind the counter of the cafe bar on the ferry boat over from Corfu to the mainland was so, so helpful even tho, having little greek, I just stuck two fingers up to indicate my order.  I don’t think she saw me limp over to the counter, but she made us 2 cups of steaming hot coffee, put them inside another cup so they were not too hot to carry, added a cube of ice each and a stirrer and then put other sundry purchases in a bag so they were easy to carry… and came over to check everything was OK a bit later….. it seems that all around there are people quietly doing good work, wanting to do a good job, fixing things, making things comfortable, convenient, safe… just for me.
When asked what makes her happy, Nina (yr2 St. Winifred’s) said ‘When Mrs. Jackson tells me that I’ve done good work’…. There is a lot of work for me to do with this lovely leg of mine (tomorrow, heel raises and plies in the pool!!)…but I pat it on the back… good work leg!… we wanna try and impress Mr. K again next month.

About aintwegotitmade

Who am I?.......well, I'm getting to that age where I have to think about that before I answer... My name is J, I'm married, and my husband and I live in the great city of London. I started this blog as an update to family and friends when I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon a few years ago (see The first post). I am so fortunate in every possible way...and in all honesty, I'm just using this blog to remind myself... Why is it called Ain't we got it made?: this is a line from one of my favourite songs (Sing Baby Sing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtTgtkDLNys). Have I got it made? Well - I've got a roof over my head, running water right into my house, a fully-stocked supermarket round the corner, free and readily available healthcare; and I live with my lovely husband in a great city, in a beautiful country, where I feel safe and secure.... I rest my case. Fact or opinion: I am not an expert on anything… but I can confirm that everything in this blog is either fact or opinion. I hope to post regularly, mostly about things I find uplifting, positive, amusing, optimistic, important..or perhaps just about regular daily life...but I won't bother you too much. Thanks for stopping by... jx
