Achilles Blog 29 – 3.7.14. Lounging at Club Vass

Club Vass… on the beach at Vassiliki Bay, is like a huge seafront living room… and while Jay does his windsurf class, I keep my leg supported (see pic). I cannot walk too far without the Boot (at least I think I shouldn’t at this point); I cannot cycle, I cannot drive…
but i can swim (badly), do rehab exercises, read (the Railway Man – Eric Lomax (better than film)), play with my phone, write my journal and generally relax… which is mostly what I would have done anyway, I suppose… plus the windsurf crowd are what I would call the ‘relaxed beautiful’ as opposed to the ‘self-conscious beautiful’….and there are tanned, toned torsos and legs aplenty… and i find myself in my semi-immobile state, becoming fixated with achilles tendons. Men definitely have the best ones.
Jay really enjoying being back doing wind-surfing… the freedom of charging along leaning back in his harness and letting the wind take him away (see pic). Jay has great legs. And the skillful legs of the World Cup players will now be put to the test in the up-coming quarter-finals…. but if you want to see real ‘football’ skill… check this (and watch it to the end)….

About aintwegotitmade

Who am I?.......well, I'm getting to that age where I have to think about that before I answer... My name is J, I'm married, and my husband and I live in the great city of London. I started this blog as an update to family and friends when I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon a few years ago (see The first post). I am so fortunate in every possible way...and in all honesty, I'm just using this blog to remind myself... Why is it called Ain't we got it made?: this is a line from one of my favourite songs (Sing Baby Sing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtTgtkDLNys). Have I got it made? Well - I've got a roof over my head, running water right into my house, a fully-stocked supermarket round the corner, free and readily available healthcare; and I live with my lovely husband in a great city, in a beautiful country, where I feel safe and secure.... I rest my case. Fact or opinion: I am not an expert on anything… but I can confirm that everything in this blog is either fact or opinion. I hope to post regularly, mostly about things I find uplifting, positive, amusing, optimistic, important..or perhaps just about regular daily life...but I won't bother you too much. Thanks for stopping by... jx
