Achilles Blog 31 – 6.7.14. Windsurfing Heaven

Would heaven get boring?… you know, constant heaven? I asked vicar Sandy this and he and I agreed not. Now I can prove it. We are in heavenly house high on hillside to east of Vassiliki bay (see pic)…. having left previous heavenly location on west side of Vassiliki bay. My ankle had swelled a little more than I’d like yesterday… resulting in a dream about blood leaking out of it!! Then I wake up in a huge bed…in heaven…ankle back to normal!

Jay has had a day or two off windsurfing having gone at it so vigorously he grazed just about everything… now he has a pair of windsurfing gloves and before he set off today he looked worryingly at his nearly healed knees and wondered how to stop them getting battered again. Now some of you will know that I have a way with old socks…. and having found that he had a pair with holes in, we proceeded to make knee protectors (see pics). Just love Jay. He really doesn’t care what people think… as long as he’s the bees knees….

Either my ankle is improving, or I’m getting used to how it feels (tight)…or both. There is now only a slight telling limp to my gait…and I walk more slowly than usual… but it’s going down stairs that really gives me away. I’m afraid DV Boot now largely abandoned. The most difficult and telling exercise is the plie… when both legs feel the same doing the plie, I’ll be fixed. I trust my amazing body knows what it’s doing… in the meantime I’ll go on the terrace and get on with physio and pilates…….and imagine that one day I’ll start to look like these guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWypWe9UAhQ (click – or cut and paste into search bar).

About aintwegotitmade

Who am I?.......well, I'm getting to that age where I have to think about that before I answer... My name is J, I'm married, and my husband and I live in the great city of London. I started this blog as an update to family and friends when I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon a few years ago (see The first post). I am so fortunate in every possible way...and in all honesty, I'm just using this blog to remind myself... Why is it called Ain't we got it made?: this is a line from one of my favourite songs (Sing Baby Sing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtTgtkDLNys). Have I got it made? Well - I've got a roof over my head, running water right into my house, a fully-stocked supermarket round the corner, free and readily available healthcare; and I live with my lovely husband in a great city, in a beautiful country, where I feel safe and secure.... I rest my case. Fact or opinion: I am not an expert on anything… but I can confirm that everything in this blog is either fact or opinion. I hope to post regularly, mostly about things I find uplifting, positive, amusing, optimistic, important..or perhaps just about regular daily life...but I won't bother you too much. Thanks for stopping by... jx
